Brandi Glanville's £130k Parasite Ordeal: A 'Fresh Start' After Facial Disfigurement
Brandi Glanville's £130k Parasite Ordeal and Recovery

Former The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Brandi Glanville has declared she is embarking on a 'fresh start', finally feeling 'so much better' after a harrowing period of facial disfigurement that she attributes to a parasitic infection.

A Costly and Painful Battle

Glanville, 53, has insisted that her features were deformed by parasites contracted in 2023 while filming The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: Ex-Wives Club 2 in Morocco. The desperate search for a cure led her to spend a staggering over $130,000, consulting more than twenty doctors and plunging into significant medical debt.

Her struggle reached a perilous low when she attempted a DIY cure using hair removal cream, which resulted in her burning her face. The emotional and financial strain was so severe that she admitted there was a time she 'didn't want to be here' any longer.

A Turning Point in New York

The tide turned for Glanville this summer after she consulted infectious disease immunology physician Dr. Michael R. Scoma in New York City. Dr. Scoma reportedly reached out to her after seeing her distraught posts about her condition on social media.

Although the specific diagnosis remains private, the treatment proved transformative. In a triumphant Instagram post in mid-August, Glanville showcased her dramatically improved features from Dr. Scoma's office, expressing immense gratitude for his intervention.

Embracing a New Chapter

Now, Glanville is looking positively towards the future. 'It’s been a slow process, but I’m finally getting back to my normal routine and feeling like myself again,' she told Us Weekly. A key part of her recovery has been a change of scenery; she has moved house, which she says 'feels like a fresh start' and has helped her create a calmer, more positive environment.

She is now focusing on simplicity, spending more time at home, and prioritising self-care. With her restored confidence, Glanville is set to make a public appearance at a meet-and-greet for the tanning salon goGLOW in Sherman Oaks next Friday, marking a significant step back into the public eye after her arduous health battle.
