BBC releases explosive first look at River City's final episode

The BBC has released a first look at the final episode of River City, which will air as an hour-long special on Monday, August 31, bringing the Glasgow-based drama to a close after 24 years.

Final episode features dramatic fire and showdown

One photo shows Lenny Murdoch (Frank Gallagher) standing in front of a dramatic fire as a car is ablaze behind him. He looks distraught as he holds onto a wall nearby, with blood on his forehead and shirt. The scene comes after he has a highly anticipated showdown with Harry (Jim Sturgeon) following their bitter rivalry.

Meanwhile, Bob O'Hara (Stephen Purdon) looks pensive as he walks Montego Street in Shieldinch.
