Fans of the iconic 90s television series Baywatch were treated to a nostalgic surprise this weekend as former co-stars Nicole Eggert and Erika Eleniak reunited at a charitable event in Los Angeles.
A Surprise Reunion for a Worthy Cause
The unexpected meet-up occurred at the Los Angeles City Fire Museum, where first responders to the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires were honoured. The event was presented by the charity Scarlett's Hope. Both actresses shared photos from the gathering on their Instagram accounts, sparking delight among their followers.
Eggert, 54, captioned her post: 'Nothing like spending time with great ladies for a great cause #lafirefighters #oneyearlater.' Eleniak, 56, echoed the sentiment, writing: 'So glad we got to spend some time together!❤️❤️.' Their former Baywatch colleagues, including Carmen Electra and Gena Lee Nolin, responded with red heart emojis in the comments.
Nicole Eggert's Courageous Health Journey
The reunion held special significance for Nicole Eggert, who has been publicly navigating a health battle. In January 2024, she revealed she had been diagnosed with stage two cribriform carcinoma breast cancer the previous December. This led to her undergoing chemotherapy, a mastectomy, and breast reconstruction.
Eggert has been remarkably open with her supporters, sharing updates on her recovery. In a recent post, she reflected on the ongoing process, stating: 'Some days I freak out on what my body has gone thru. And then I remember how she showed up for me... So I put all my faith in her hands. She's got this.'
She recently celebrated a positive milestone, announcing that her latest blood tests came back clear. However, the actress prefers to focus on the present, telling People magazine: 'I struggle with it because I don't like to use the word remission. I just say I'm NED, which is no evidence of disease... all I can do is focus on being the healthiest and the best I can be for me right now.' Her primary motivation throughout her treatment has been her two children, whom she calls her 'rocks'.
Erika Eleniak: From Baywatch to Body Art
Erika Eleniak, who played lifeguard Shauni McClain from 1989 to 1992, has also undergone a personal transformation since her Baywatch days. Once known as a classic blonde pin-up, the actress now proudly displays a collection of significant tattoos.
She explained on the Still Here Hollywood podcast that each piece of ink tells a story, saying: 'I love tattoos. I love that my body is a canvas to tell my stories.' Eleniak's career began even before Baywatch with a role in Steven Spielberg's E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial in 1982. She later became a Playboy Playmate in July 1989, though she has always identified as an actress first.
The reunion served as a poignant reminder of the enduring bond between the stars of the globally successful series, which aired from 1989 until 2001, and their shared commitment to supporting important causes in their community.
