Adam Peaty's Father 'Fuming' Over Wedding Snub as Family Feud Erupts
Adam Peaty's father 'hurt' over wedding invite snub

Olympic champion Adam Peaty is preparing to marry television chef Gordon Ramsay's daughter, Holly, this Saturday in a ceremony at the historic Bath Abbey. However, the joyous occasion has been overshadowed by a painful family rift, with several of Peaty's closest relatives, including his mother and father, reportedly not attending.

Parents Express Deep Hurt Over Reception Exclusion

In a candid interview with the Daily Mail, Peaty's mother, Caroline, revealed the extent of the family's distress. She claimed the situation has left her feeling profoundly wounded, stating she was told she could attend the service but not the subsequent wedding reception. "I don’t think they understand how much they have hurt me; it’s as if they have cut my heart out," Caroline said.

She described this Christmas as the first without her full family together, lamenting that "my family is broken" and "split because of the goings on...because of the wedding." Caroline also disclosed that Adam's father, Mark, is equally upset and has decided to decline his invitation to the ceremony altogether. "Mark’s fuming. He is so hurt," she added, noting his concern for her wellbeing on the day.

Feud Traced Back to Engagement Party Tensions

The roots of the current discord appear to stem from the couple's engagement party last year, held shortly after they announced their news in September 2024. According to a source speaking to The Sun, relations were better at that event, but matters deteriorated afterwards.

The source indicated that Caroline was unhappy some family members weren't present and confronted Gordon Ramsay at the party. The event, which was filmed, required guests to sign non-disclosure agreements and surrender their phones, adding a layer of formality that may have contributed to the tension.

The public fallout escalated last month when Peaty's aunt, Louise Williams, criticised Holly for not inviting Caroline to her hen party. In response, Peaty issued a statement on social media, which his fiancée Holly shared with her 400,000 followers in a show of unity.

Public Pleas and Private Pain

In his statement, Peaty acknowledged the "challenging times" but asked for understanding, asserting that "there are always two sides to every story." He expressed gratitude to supporters for their kindness.

Meanwhile, Caroline has made a heartfelt public plea to her son. In a direct message, she said, "Please know I love you, your dad loves you, you can come home and talk to me at any point... I hope your marriage is a good one." She expressed a desire for the conflict to end, but also voiced a feeling that the Ramsay family is "insular" and pulling Adam away.

Despite the absence of his parents, Peaty's sister, Bethany, is set to play a key role in the wedding as one of Holly's bridesmaids. The ceremony at Bath Abbey on Saturday will proceed, marking the union of two prominent families amidst a backdrop of very public familial strife.
