Yellowstone Sequel Series in the Works with Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser

Kelly Reilly and Cole Hauser are reportedly set to lead a new sequel series in the Yellowstone franchise, according to Deadline. The actors will reprise their roles as Beth Dutton and Rip Wheeler in the spin-off, which is being developed by franchise creator Taylor Sheridan and is expected to carry the Yellowstone name.

The new series is seen as a central continuation of the original show's storyline, though a sixth season of Yellowstone has not been ruled out. The focus, however, is currently on the spin-off. This development follows earlier confusion over the show's future, when Paramount had scrapped a sixth season in favour of a sequel series starring Matthew McConaughey, only to later backtrack on that plan.

If the new series goes ahead, it will join a growing list of Yellowstone spin-offs, including the prequels 1883 and 1923, and the upcoming contemporary spin-off The Madison, starring Michelle Pfeiffer. Gil Birmingham, who plays Thomas Rainwater, has also expressed interest in a spin-off focusing on his character and Moses Brings Plenty's Mo, saying discussions have taken place about exploring the native side of the story.
