Emmerdale is set to reveal the killer of Ray Walters (Joe Absolom) in a special week of episodes. Ray, a drug-dealing people trafficker who ran a modern slavery ring from Butler's Farm, was no stranger to controversy. The village's residents had plenty of reasons to want him dead, but only one person holds the bloody secret.
The episodes focus on three main suspects: Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy), Rhona Goskirk (Zoe Henry), and Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock). Each suspect has a compelling motive. Laurel was falling in love with Ray until she discovered his true nature from a teenage victim. Rhona's daughter April was coerced into Ray's drug ring, and Marlon, as a protective father, was desperate to save his child.
In Laurel's episode, she confronts Ray after learning the truth, but her son Arthur (Alfie Clarke) resolves to make Ray pay for terrifying his mother. Rhona's episode sees her despairing over April's disappearance, with a shadowy figure looming behind her. Marlon's episode shows him angrily demanding to know where his daughter is, after Ray threw him to the ground.
The grand reveal comes in Thursday's episode, which replays Ray's final moments. Ray stands over the body of his adoptive mother and partner in crime, Celia Daniels (Jaye Griffiths), wracked with shock and remorse. He grabs a distinctive red sports bag and wipes his fingerprints off the knife in Celia's back. Before leaving, he checks upstairs and is grief-stricken to discover that Celia has killed Bear Wolf (Joshua Richards).
