The new science fiction series Pluribus, from Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, has revealed its filming locations as the show gains momentum. The series stars Rhea Seehorn as Carol Sturka, one of the last humans uninfected by an alien hive mind virus.
Primarily set in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the show's production built an entire cul-de-sac from scratch for the series. Gilligan explained: 'They built a cul-de-sac from scratch in the middle of a field on the west side of Albuquerque. We leased it long term and built a real cul-de-sac with real concrete curbs and seven real houses.'
The neighbourhood was constructed to provide a view of the Sandia Mountains, with location scouts searching for months to find the perfect spot. Albuquerque's mayor, Tim Keller, even made a cameo appearance in episode four, playing himself.
Beyond Albuquerque, filming took place in Las Vegas, Nevada; Big Sky, Montana; Northern Spain; and the Canary Islands. Despite references to Paraguay in the storyline, no footage was actually shot there.
With four episodes remaining in the debut season and a second already commissioned, viewers can expect further globe-trotting as Carol continues her mission to reverse the alien infection.
