A Wheel of Fortune contestant named Micki from Louisiana missed out on a $1 million prize after a costly mistake during the bonus round. The puzzle, under the category 'Thing', required only three letters to be solved, but Micki incorrectly guessed 'S', triggering the incorrect-answer buzzer and losing the chance at the grand prize and a luxury holiday to Croatia.
Host Pat Sajak expressed disbelief, saying, 'You got the reaction. No 'S', I'm sorry.' The audience groaned audibly as Micki collapsed on the desk in horror. Viewers took to social media to criticise the blunder, with one tweeting, 'Getting angry at Wheel of Fortune. Just another Friday night.'
This incident follows a series of recent Wheel of Fortune blunders. In one episode, contestants Laura and Christopher struggled with the phrase 'another feather in your cap', guessing letters like 'D' and 'G' and words such as 'lap', 'map', or 'hat'. Another contestant failed to solve the puzzle 'Jurassic Park movies', instead guessing 'Jurassic Park bodies'.
In a previous episode, contestant Octavia missed the final puzzle 'Autographed Copy' despite receiving the letters 'T R E' and choosing additional consonants and a vowel. Host Pat Sajak commented, 'I thought you might be able to come up with autograph...wasn't gonna happen, was it?'
