Wednesday Addams is going continental for season three, and Netflix fans are already predicting a crossover with another major series. The third season of the hit supernatural drama, starring Jenna Ortega as the iconic morbid teen, has officially entered production in Paris, sparking speculation that Wednesday might meet Emily Cooper from Emily in Paris.
Production Moves to Paris
Previous instalments of Wednesday took place at Nevermore Academy, where the character developed psychic abilities and solved spooky mysteries. However, the first production image from the highly anticipated third season confirms a Parisian detour. The new snap features Ortega dressed in black, standing in front of the Eiffel Tower, with Thing—her loyal disembodied hand companion—perched on a scooter.
Filming was previously confirmed to be taking place in Dublin, Ireland, before Netflix announced the move to Paris, igniting fan theories. On X, one user wrote: “So she will go to Paris and meet Emily in Paris?” Another questioned: “So she meets Emily in Paris not Enid (Emma Myers)?” The discussion continued on Instagram, where fans exclaimed: “OMG!!!! Is Wednesday meeting with Emily in Paris?” and “Wednesday × Emily in Paris.”
Plot Details Under Wraps
Plot details for season three are currently under wraps, but the story is expected to pick up after Wednesday’s werewolf best friend Enid transformed and disappeared into the wilderness. Co-creator Alfred Gough teased: “Our goal for season three is the same as it is for every season: to make it the best season of Wednesday we possibly can. We want to continue digging deeper into our characters while expanding the world of Nevermore and Wednesday.”
His creative partner Miles Millar added: “We will be seeing more Addams family members and learning more family secrets in season three!”
New Cast Additions
Among the new additions for Wednesday’s next season are Stranger Things and Beetlejuice legend Winona Ryder, re-teaming with director Tim Burton. Other newcomers include Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), Andrew McCarthy (St. Elmo’s Fire), James Lance (Ted Lasso), Chris Sarandon (The Princess Bride), and Noah Taylor (Peaky Blinders). Frequent Tim Burton collaborator Eva Green has also been cast as Aunt Ophelia, the mysterious and missing sister of Wednesday’s mother, Morticia Addams (Catherine Zeta-Jones).
Wednesday is available to stream on Netflix.
