The entertainment world is in mourning following the announcement of the death of beloved actress Lorraine Cheshire at the age of 65. The heartbreaking news was shared by her long-term partner, John Dixon, in an emotional social media post on Friday.

Lorraine Cheshire was best known for her role as English teacher Fleur Budgen in the popular Channel 4 school drama Waterloo Road, which she played from 2007 to 2012. Her character's storyline was particularly memorable, as Fleur was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer's disease in series six and later suffered a fatal stroke, leaving her on-screen husband Grantley devastated.

Concurrently, from 2011, she starred as the gossiping customer service assistant Sue Benson in the supermarket comedy Trollied, a role she held until the series concluded in 2018. The show was set in a fictional supermarket in Warrington, Cheshire.

Remarkably, Cheshire began her acting career later in life, securing her first professional role at the age of 35. Her early work included a part in the BBC period series Cranford. She also made notable appearances in Holby City and Clocking Off, and held a main role in the sitcom Early Doors.
