Seaview Road in Wallasey, Merseyside, is the centrepiece of Tesco's newly launched Christmas advert. The campaign, titled The Wrong Address, premiered during the advert break in Who Wants to be a Millionaire on November 1.
The three-minute film stars Roisin Conaty and Anna Maxwell Martin and tells the story of a rekindled friendship. Conaty plays Polly, a Tesco delivery driver who drops off a Christmas order at the house of her old schoolfriend. Maxwell Martin plays Lizzie, who sends the order to her old address on Seaview Road.
Filming in Wallasey
Eagle-eyed viewers may have noticed that Seaview Road is in Wirral, as filming took place in Wallasey. In the heartwarming advert, Polly does not want the family to miss out on their Christmas treats, so she drives to the halfway point between the new house. However, when she realises it is her old friend, she drives the whole journey.
Cast and Crew Comments
Speaking about the advert, Roisin said: "I love that this story centres on female friendship. It starts in a way many people can relate to, all stress and mayhem, but shows how one small act of kindness can bring people back together after years apart."
Anna added: "We've all been there. In the stress to get everything perfect at Christmas, suddenly you realise you've somehow only ordered one singular sprout, totally forgotten wrapping paper, or sent a delivery to the wrong address."
The film was directed by Steve Rogers via Biscuit Filmworks UK x Revolver and created by Pete Ioulianou and Ollie Agius at BBH London. The accompanying track is 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic' by The Police.
