Netflix has announced that Season 7 of its popular romantic drama 'Virgin River' will premiere on March 12, 2026, fifteen months after the December 2024 release of Season 6. The series, starring Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson, is one of Netflix's 'blue sky' comfort shows.
The first official episodic image from the new season features lead characters Mel Monroe (Breckenridge) and Jack Sheridan (Henderson) in conversation with a mystery woman, seen only from the back, in front of what appears to be a train engine. The woman is not identified, adding intrigue to the upcoming season.
In March 2025, Deadline reported that Sara Canning and Cody Kearsley joined the cast as recurring characters for Season 7, with Austin Nicholas also believed to be appearing. It is unclear whether the mystery woman in the photo is Canning's character or an existing one.
Based on Robyn Carr's novels, 'Virgin River' follows nurse practitioner Melinda Monroe as she moves to the remote California town seeking a fresh start. The series has already been renewed for an eighth season and films in Vancouver, with a location shoot in Mexico for Season 7, possibly for Mel and Jack's honeymoon.
Returning main cast includes Tim Matheson, Annette O'Toole, Colin Lawrence, Benjamin Hollingsworth, Sarah Dugdale, Grazzini, Kai Bradbury, and Kandyse McClure. Executive producers include showrunner Patrick Sean Smith, Sue Tenney, Amy Palmer Robertson, Roma Roth, Christopher E. Perry, Carr, Erin Cardillo, Richard Keith, and Jennifer Monroe.
