Virgin River season 7 has left fans reeling with its cliffhanger ending, but one character who is definitely not leaving is Preacher, played by Colin Lawrence. Despite tensions with Jack over the bar, Preacher stays in town to pursue his own restaurant venture.
In the finale, Jack buys out Preacher's share of Jack's Bar, allowing Preacher to set up his own restaurant. This comes after a positive review in Food & Wine brings a surge of customers, but Jack is reluctant to expand due to financial concerns with a baby on the way. The friends reach an amicable agreement, and Preacher remains in Virgin River.
Meanwhile, the season ends on a major cliffhanger involving Brady (Ben Hollingsworth). After reconciling with Brie, Brady is in a motorbike accident when he swerves to avoid a truck. The final scene cuts to the birth of Mel and Jack's adopted baby, leaving Brady's fate unknown until season 8.
Mel and Jack's adoption journey concludes with Marley giving birth to a son with a heart condition. The baby is taken to the NICU, and Mel looks forward to finally becoming a mother after years of longing.
