BBC Daytime has announced a new quiz show hosted by Vernon Kay, titled Do You Know Your Place?, set to air in 2026. The 20-episode series, each 30 minutes long, will feature celebrity contestants testing their knowledge of the UK, with assistance—or obstruction—from The Traitors star Paul Gorton, who acts as an 'unreliable' tour guide.
The show is produced by Stellify Media in Northern Ireland. In each episode, Paul will visit a different town or city, setting questions to the celebrities in the studio, who must decipher fact from fiction. The celebrity with the most correct answers wins, with an overall winner crowned at the end of the week.
Vernon Kay expressed his excitement, saying: 'I’m absolutely thrilled to be fronting Do You Know Your Place? — it’s a cracking new quiz that’s all about the people and places we know best.' The commission was announced by Rob Unsworth, Head of BBC Daytime and Early Peak Commissioning, at the Belfast Media Festival.
In addition, BBC Daytime has commissioned Ronan Keating’s Wild Atlantic, a travelogue exploring the west coast of Ireland, produced by Alleycats TV. The series will see Keating visit Cork, Kerry, Mayo, Sligo, Donegal, and Derry, sharing personal stories from his childhood and family life.
Ronan Keating commented: 'It’s felt really special making this series, rediscovering magical places that have meant so much to me and my family.' The show is part of the Hot House initiative, co-commissioned with BBC Northern Ireland and supported by Northern Ireland Screen.
Meanwhile, hit quiz The Finish Line, hosted by Roman Kemp and Sarah Greene, has been recommissioned for a fourth series and will also feature a week of Christmas celebrity specials. Roman Kemp said: 'I’m so happy that The Finish Line is coming back to Northern Ireland to film for a fourth series and that we get to gift audiences with a Christmas special.'
