Birds of a Feather Stars Reunite in Crime Drama After 37 Years

Linda Robson and Lesley Joseph, best known for their roles in the iconic 90s sitcom Birds of a Feather, are reuniting on screen in the Channel 5 crime drama The Good Ship Murder. The reunion comes nearly 37 years after the pair first appeared together on the BBC in 1989.

Birds of a Feather, created by Laurence Marks and Maurice Gran, ran from 1989 to 1998, with a revival on ITV from 2014 to 2020. The show followed sisters Sharon (Pauline Quirk) and Tracey (Linda Robson), whose lives are upended when their husbands are jailed for armed robbery. Their neighbour Dorien (Lesley Joseph) became a fan favourite for her comedic affairs with younger men.

In The Good Ship Murder, the duo appear in episode 5 of the latest series, airing on Tuesday, January 27 at 9pm. They play Tilly and Elsa, two merry widows on a grief cruise. When the ship docks in Cape Verde, Tilly is found murdered, prompting former detective Jack Grayling (Shayne Ward) and First Officer Kate Woods (Catherine Tyldesley) to investigate.

The drama also reunites former Coronation Street stars Shayne Ward and Catherine Tyldesley. Ward, who won The X Factor in 2005, said: 'To work alongside my good friend Catherine again has been magical, and all while cruising around the Mediterranean.' Tyldesley added: 'Being reunited with Shayne has been so much fun and this series has been a joy to make.'
