Former Traitors winner Rachel Reilly has named current player Maya Jama as her top pick to win the show and said she would relish the chance to share Traitor duties with the Love Island presenter in the Ardross Castle turret.
Reilly, who won series four alongside fellow Traitor Stephen Libby, told Daily Star she had messaged Jama to wish her luck and received a reply.
Backing Maya Jama for the win
“I messaged her to wish her luck, she was so lovely and replied. She just seems to be a really lovely person so she's my top pick for the win! How could you argue with her?” Reilly said.
Asked whether she would get along with Jama if they had to work together as Traitors, Reilly said: “I think me and her would get along, me and her would be a good duo. Unless she smiles at me then stabs me in the back!”
“I think she came there trying her best, do what she needed to do. I think she's fabulous, I think she's great. I love to see a strong woman come in, hold her own, she's very cool calm and collected.”
Richard E. Grant's early reveal
Reilly also commented on Richard E. Grant's strategy of revealing his Traitor identity early in the game. She said: “If he had followed it up with a laugh and said: 'You're all so easy to joke with,' or something he might have scraped by and got away with it, but I think he just got too excited. He would have been amazing.”
Holiday negotiation campaign
Reilly is partnering with Sundeals as new research reveals Brits spend an average of 21 hours negotiating holiday plans. Asked whether negotiating at the Traitors roundtable was harder than navigating the family group chat when deciding on a holiday destination, she could not decide.
“That's a tough one! The rest of my family are very headstrong, so negotiating any holiday plans would be hard. That's why the Sundeals campaign jumped out at me because when I heard what it was going to be, I was like: 'Oh my god, I can totally relate to that!'” she said.
“Round the round table, the herd mentality when everyone's throwing random stuff in the mix…when you just can't make a decision…that's why I jumped at the campaign and I had the best fun ever taking part in it. Hopefully I'll help a lot of people when it comes to negotiating those pesky groupchats!”
