Viewers of The Celebrity Traitors believe they have worked out what happens in the next episode after the third week of the reality gameshow ended on a dramatic cliffhanger.
An audience of 9.3 million tuned in to the latest instalment of the BBC One programme on Friday (October 16) to watch comedian Joe Lycett be banished from the castle. The sixth episode also attracted a peak audience of 9.6 million and a 57 per cent audience share, according to the BBC.
The new series launched earlier this month, with the premiere becoming the most-watched debut episode of any series of the programme in the UK, with an average of 8.9 million viewers.
Joe Lycett's banishment and the recruitment twist
The last episode started with the revelation that no player had been murdered after traitors Maya Jama and James Acaster recruited content creator King Kenny. Kenny filled the vacancy left by Hannah Fry, after she was banished during the roundtable in Thursday's episode and exposed as a Traitor.
Joe had been vocal that he wanted to be her replacement, which prompted suspicion at the roundtable in Friday's instalment. Asked if he had indeed been recruited, he replied: "I did not, and I am sad about it, because that is something I wanted in this game. I've probably been too vocal about it."
Pleading his case as he fell under suspicion, Joe said it would be "too obvious" for the Traitors to recruit him. However, he sealed his fate when he told the group: "If you banish me tonight, they will have to recruit again," prompting members of the roundtable to assume he had let slip he was indeed a Traitor.
The murder in plain sight challenge
But Joe's banishment wasn't the end, as instead of going back to the turret, it was revealed that the Traitors would have to murder in plain sight by boring them to death. They had to locate a perfume, spray it in a room, lure a faithful into the spray's path, before making them yawn and asking them if they are boring them.
Jerry Hall was first in the room, followed by Ross Kemp, and Celebrity Traitors viewers were left to wait to find out who would yawn first. Amid reports that the game was at risk of being thrown into chaos during filming, fans think they have worked out what happens next.
Fan theories on the cliffhanger

@rvbsvv commented: "I think Ross will yawn then Maya and James will say 'am I boring you?' at the same time #CelebrityTraitors." @MadelynSmedley echoed: "OMG I've just had a thought what if maya and james a both say 'am i boring you ross/jerry?' At the same time #traitors #celebritytraitors #jinx."
@superTV247 posted: "I can't stop thinking about the #CelebrityTraitors cliffhanger. Like what if Ross clocks on? What if Maya and James say the line AT THE SAME TIME? What if no one yawns? What if there's an entire funeral planned the next day? This is going to be the longest week between two episodes EVER."
@ichifangirl shared: "Celebrity traitors spoilers So there is only two ways this can go next week, they killed Ross in plain sight or Ross paranoia finally it's going to work into the faithfuls side #CelebrityTraitors." @LadyLun47412276 added: "Ok this will happen. 1) Jerry will yawn and she gets murdered 2) Ross will immediately twig and next morning will confront James A and Maya 3) Kenny wont be mentioned as he wasn't in the room 4) James A will defend himself better than Maya 5) Maya banished #CelebrityTraitors."
