Traitors Fans in Tears Over James Blunt 'Robbed' of Final Win
Traitors Fans in Tears Over James Blunt's Final Exit

The Celebrity Traitors finale aired on Friday night (October 30), and after a tense game of deception, the remaining stars finally revealed their true identities. In the end, the Faithfuls Leigh-Anne Pinnock, Romesh Ranganathan, Sebastian "Bash" Croft, and James Blunt were playing for a chance to win money for charity, while the Traitors among them were Maya Jama and King Kenny.

After two tense roundtables, the game concluded when Romesh and Bash were the only ones left, allowing them to divide the final prize fund of £83,000 equally between their selected charities. Romesh shared that his portion would go to the Refugee Council, while Bash allocated his £41,500 to the humanitarian organisation Choose Love, which assists queer refugees and displaced individuals.

James Blunt's Last-Minute Exit

During the final elimination, James sealed his own fate by voting against ending the game, forcing Romesh to vote for him, while Bash ultimately turned against him after voting out Kenny. It wasn't long before viewers took to X to share their thoughts on James being banished at the very end, with many left feeling sorry for the singer.

One person said: "Never thought I'd be saying this but I'm so unbelievably sad for James Blunt, the look on his face at the endgame when he realised what he'd done actually brought me to tears." Another added: "Justice for James Blunt and Leigh-Anne." A third wrote: "That final was AMAZING!!!! but.......why on earth did James Blunt at the last minute press the self-destruct button."

Reactions and the Prize Fund

One viewer added: "James Blunt was robbed he should have been there to the very end." Another wrote: "James Blunt had me in tears at the final round table. His facial expressions when Romesh voted for him. Amazing TV so funny."

When asked how the end of the game was for him, James told the BBC: "I really enjoyed it. It was intense, like all of them. It was coming down to the wire, so it's like all of them, and there was a curve ball in there that completely caught me by surprise, which actually was fantastic gameplay by a person who was no longer acting like a Faithful but was actually acting as a true Traitor, but I was really happy with it, because you know, we've got the Faithful win."

The prize fund started at zero and grew throughout the series, with each successfully completed challenge adding thousands of pounds to the eventual jackpot. In the inaugural celebrity series during 2025, the famous faces accumulated a prize fund of £87,500, with Traitor champion Alan Carr donating his complete winnings to the children's cancer charity Neuroblastoma UK.

Unlike the civilian edition of the programme, none of the celebrity participants retain the money personally. The regulations for allocating the prize fund mirror those of the main series, meaning that should a single Traitor evade detection and reach the conclusion, they claim the entire pot, leaving the Faithfuls empty-handed. Should all remaining participants in the final circle be Faithfuls, they divide the prize fund equally amongst themselves. Celebrity Traitors is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
