Traitors boss names Tom Cruise and Prince William as dream picks

The boss of Celebrity Traitors has named Tom Cruise and Prince William as dream guests for a third series, following the finale of series two.

Romesh Ranganathan and Sebastian Croft were crowned winners on Friday (October 30) after Traitors Maya Jama and King Kenny were banished. Romesh later discussed the win on his BBC Radio 2 show, appearing alongside his co-winner.

Sebastian said he woke up with a "light sense" that he no longer had to "keep the secret anymore", adding that it had been "killing" him. Romesh confirmed that they had indeed been "worried".

Record Viewing Figures

The show draws around 15 million viewers per episode, with the final pulling in a record average of 11.2 million live viewers.

Stephen Lambert, chief executive of Studio Lambert — the production company behind Celebrity Traitors, Race Across the World and Gogglebox — is keen to build on that success.

Among the big names he would like on the programme is Top Gun legend Tom Cruise. Stephen told The Times: "He would be great. And he loves Britain. We're right up there in terms of our aspirations for the kind of person that might do the show."

Royal Ambitions

Stephen is also hoping to secure at least one royal for the celebrity roster, having been awarded his OBE by him at Windsor Castle in 2025. He added: "Prince William would be good."

"He said that it was family-appointment television and they were all looking forward to watching it. That was the day of the first episode of Celebrity Traitors last season."

Earlier this month, Tom's enthusiasm for the Royal Family was evident when Prince William and the Princess of Wales stepped out for the London premiere of his latest film, Alejandro González Iñárritu's Digger.

At the Royal Film Performance charity event, Kate arrived in a bold purple Jenny Packham gown. Tom later singled it out for praise, calling the look "stunning" as he spoke about the Waleses.

He said: "They are amazing people. How dedicated they are to their country and what they give to the world. They're just beautiful people - and fun!"

Of Kate, Tom added: "She's very funny. She's got a great sense of humour. Obviously very intelligent and fun. And her dress, of course both of them, they're so charismatic. So elegant, that dress that she was wearing - it was stunning."

William's Traitors Fandom

During an appearance on The Graham Norton Show on October 23, Prince William again spoke about his love for the BBC series. He also shared that he is a fan of "deep-thinking films", naming Christopher Nolan — the filmmaker behind The Dark Knight trilogy — as a favourite.

"His films are fantastic. The Dark Knight series is psychologically dark and deep and I absolutely love that. He takes concepts that are completely out there and makes them incredibly entertaining."

William also revealed that he, Kate, and their youngsters Charlotte and Prince Louis were big fans of Celebrity Traitors. He added: "I love it, the family love it. Charlotte and Louis are obsessed with it. It's really good telly."
