The latest episode of The Celebrity Traitors delivered a murder in plain sight, a tense mission, and a banishment that shocked viewers. Fan favourite Ross Kemp was eliminated after falling into a trap set by the Traitors.
Ross Kemp Falls Victim to 'Bored to Death' Challenge
In a challenge called 'Bored to Death', the Traitors sprayed a special “peacock perfume” inside a room before luring an unsuspecting Faithful into their trap. Their plan required the victim to yawn naturally before they delivered the line: “Am I boring you?”.
Ross Kemp, the former EastEnders actor, became the latest celebrity to be murdered, leaving fans devastated after weeks of his humorous moments in the series. Ironically, Kemp had spent much of his time in the castle terrified of being murdered in plain sight, but a simple yawn sealed his fate despite his efforts to avoid deadly handshakes or hugs.
Reacting to his murder, Kemp admitted: “Oh no, it had to happen at some point.” He reflected on his wariness of fellow contestants, saying: “I was really sensitive to people coming close to me. Could have been a cheers. Could have been anything.”
Traitors Face Risky Mission
Kemp also referenced Shakespeare, quoting Polonius's advice: “to thine own self be true”. He added: “I have been true to myself and I have been true to the faithfuls. Well played traitors, but you’re always going to be traitors, and I know where you live.”
The Traitors then faced their riskiest mission yet, attempting to creep across creaking floorboards and complete a puzzle-building challenge while surrounded by blindfolded Faithfuls. James Acaster refused to take part, convinced that any noise would give him away, while Maya and Kenny failed to secure cash for the prize pot during the shield-making exercise.
Jerry Hall Banished at Roundtable
Tensions rose at the Roundtable as the Faithfuls turned their suspicions on Jerry Hall, the American model and actress. Her banishment proved to be another mistake in their search for the Traitors.
This follows Friday's episode where comedian Joe Lycett was banished after his plea to be recruited backfired. Lycett had been vocal about wanting to join the traitors but remained faithful until the end.
Kenny filled the vacancy left by Hannah Fry, who was banished in last Thursday's episode and exposed as a traitor. Lycett said he wanted to be her replacement, prompting suspicion. He replied: “I did not and I am sad about it, because that is something I wanted in this game. I’ve probably been too vocal about it.”
Lycett sealed his fate when he said: “If you banish me tonight, they will have to recruit again,” leading others to assume he was a traitor. After being voted off, he revealed: “I always wanted to start as a faithful and end as a traitor. I started as a faithful, I did not get my wish, I am a faithful.”
