Tim Lovejoy has admitted to a 'frustrating' regret from his time presenting Sunday Brunch, confessing he missed the chance to ask a revealing question to 80s pop star Tiffany.
The Channel 4 host, who has co-presented the show with chef Simon Rimmer since 2012, revealed on the Fuelling Around podcast that he still 'gets stuff wrong all the time' despite 14 years of experience.
Lovejoy explained that the team conducts thorough research ahead of the three-hour live broadcast, but time constraints often prevent him from covering all planned topics. He was particularly disappointed when he failed to quiz Tiffany about her brief departure from fame to work in a home decor store.
'She gave up celebrity and fame and worked in a home decor store and was just about to get promoted and someone went: "Aren't you Tiffany?"' Lovejoy recounted. 'She didn't get her promotion, had to leave, and went back into celebrity again. I couldn't get there in the three hours... It was really frustrating as I think the viewers would have loved that.'
Co-host Simon Rimmer has previously described such mishaps as 'the joy of live telly', and credited their friendship for the programme's enduring appeal.
