Amy Dowden's Strictly Future 'Revealed' After Emotional Exit with Thomas Skinner

Amy Dowden's future on Strictly Come Dancing has been tipped for a triumphant return in 2026, following her emotional exit from the 2025 series with partner Thomas Skinner. The Apprentice star became the first contestant voted off, losing the dance-off to rugby ace Chris Robshaw.

Since her departure, the 35-year-old professional dancer has received an outpouring of support from fans, who hoped for a victorious comeback after her battle with breast cancer. Dowden took a break in 2023 for surgery and returned last year with JLS star JB Gill, but withdrew due to health issues.

Celebrity PR specialist Kayley Cornelius believes producers will feel pressure to secure Dowden a place in the 2026 line-up with a more compatible partner. 'Perhaps 2026 could finally be third time lucky for Amy – the year she lifts her first Glitterball trophy!' Cornelius said.

Despite the setback, Dowden remained upbeat, telling presenter Tess Daly: 'I've got to know the real Tom and he is adorable. He's looked after me, we've laughed endlessly, worked so hard, and while a Glitterball would've been amazing, what I've learned these past few years is that happiness, health and friendship matter most.'

Dowden added: 'The last few years have been really difficult for me and I lost all confidence as a dancer, but walking into the room with your smile and laugh brought me back – honestly, thank you.' Strictly Come Dancing continues Saturday at 6:05pm on BBC One.
