This Morning could be off air all week after ITV power cut

This Morning could be off air for the rest of the week after a power cut at ITV's Covent Garden studios in London caused daytime shows to be pulled. The outage, which began overnight, forced the cancellation of Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women on the day, with Good Morning Britain extended by half an hour to fill the gap.

Power cut disrupts ITV daytime schedule

Lorraine Kelly was first to reveal the issue, saying on social media that a power outage at the studio meant her show would not air. She added that the problem was expected to be fixed around 11 o'clock, and that This Morning would air later than usual. However, This Morning was subsequently replaced with best bits from past episodes, and Loose Women was taken off air completely.

ITV confirmed the disruption in a statement, saying: "Following a power cut overnight in the wider area where our Covent Garden studio is based, we are unable to broadcast Lorraine, This Morning and Loose Women live today. We will return to our normal schedule as soon as possible."

Bosses worry about rest of week

Sources now suggest the problems may not be resolved in time for the next day's schedule. "It appears to be a wider area outage rather than just the studio, and it's not an easy fix," a source told The Sun, adding: "Daytime is worried about plans going south for the rest of the week. Lots of work and planning could go to waste."

Fans expressed frustration over the disruption on social media. One wrote: "Ahh, the gremlins have got in! #ThisMorning," while another said: "@itv all over the place today.. no #lorraine cutting #gmb off."

The Mirror has approached ITV for comment.
