The Voice UK semi-final: start time, duration and line-up

The Voice UK semi-final airs tonight, Saturday, October 23, from 8.35pm until 10.35pm on ITV, as the remaining 12 artists return to the stage for their biggest performance yet.

During the Battles Rounds, coaches Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Kelly Rowland, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones were joined by guest mentors to help pick three acts from each team to take through to the semi-final.

Semi-final line-up and coach choices

With three singers left on each team, the coaches face their toughest decision of the series, choosing just one artist to represent them in the grand finale.

Frank Raven, Jack Algar and Ciiara Nyx will represent Team Tom and Danny, while Lascel Wood, Monique Nicholson-Porter and Aaren James will hope to impress mentor Kelly.

Molly J, Cate McHugh and Amãlia Estradas will perform in a bid to be chosen by Sir Tom to make it through to next week's final, and will.i.am will have to pick between Naná Aldrin-Quaye, Sonna Rele or Diogo Ferreira.

Fan reaction and prize

Fans at home were thrilled with the coaches' selections, with one fan writing on social media: "Absolutely amazing lineup!!" and a second adding: "Good choices! Hard decision as they were all really good xx."

Only one artist from each team will be chosen to progress to the final, and whoever wins the show will walk away with a recording contract with Universal Music Group and a £50,000 cash prize.

Future changes to The Voice UK

The Voice UK is set to undergo a major shake-up next year as Stacey Solomon and Alesha Dixon replace Emma Willis as the show's new presenters. Emma is taking a step back after landing the Strictly Come Dancing host job alongside Johannes Radebe and Josh Widdicombe.

Emma is not the only star bidding farewell to The Voice UK, as Sir Tom Jones, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones will also not be returning. Girls Aloud legend Cheryl and rapper Aitch will be joining as coaches alongside Kelly and will.i.am.

ITV confirmed the news last month, saying: "We thank Emma Willis, Tom Fletcher and Danny Jones for their brilliant contributions, and who all brought so much dedication, expertise and energy to The Voice UK and wish them the very best of luck as they embark on their next chapters."

"We would also like to thank the irreplaceable Sir Tom Jones for all his years on The Voice UK, and the countless incredible and unforgettable moments he gave the show. He has brought joy to audiences, and to every singer who performed for him and with him."

Sir Tom, 86, said he had been offered a "much-reduced role" on the show, which he was "not thrilled about". He said: "The reason given is because of a financial difficulty with insurance. They now say in the press they wanted to 'refresh' the show, and with a new coaching line-up there wouldn't be a chair for me."

The Voice UK final airs next Saturday, October 31.
