Fans of 'The Summer I Turned Pretty' are feeling anxious after showrunner Jenny Han dropped hints about the series finale. The Prime Video drama, based on Han's trilogy, concludes on Wednesday (September 17) with its final episode.
The love triangle between Belly Conklin (Lola Tung) and the Fisher brothers, Jeremiah (Gavin Casalegno) and Conrad (Christopher Briney), has gripped viewers since 2022. In the books, Belly ends up with Conrad, but Han has confirmed the TV finale will differ.
Speaking to the LA Times, Han hinted that Conrad and Belly may not reunite in Paris as fans expect. 'He and Belly aren't in the same place,' she said. 'She's saying that she's ready for something new this summer, and he's something old coming back into her life.'
The latest episodes saw Belly preparing to marry Jeremiah before he called off the wedding. She has since moved to Paris and started a new romance with Benito. Conrad, unaware of this, is flying to France after reconnecting with Belly through letters.
Fans have taken to Reddit to express their worries. One wrote: 'This literally scares me. Like I know she is still trying to keep us on our toes but it's stressing me out.' Another said: 'They cannot break Conrad's heart again, surely. I think she's messing with us.'
