The Paper, the acclaimed mockumentary comedy spin-off of the US version of The Office, has been renewed for a second season. All episodes will premiere on Sky and streaming service NOW on September 10.
Returning Cast and Guest Stars
Domhnall Gleeson, known for playing Bill Weasley in the Harry Potter films, returns alongside Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, and Gbemisola Ikumelo. Guest stars for the new season include Jon Lovitz (The Simpsons), Andy Richter (Conan), and Lisa Gilroy (Jury Duty).
Plot Synopsis
According to the official synopsis, season two follows Ned as he searches for a journalistic crusade after sweeping the Ohio Journalism Awards. He targets a local private club, jeopardizing the paper. Meanwhile, Ned and Mare navigate their attraction, Esmeralda struggles to find her place, and the staff gradually mature as reporters.
Critical and Audience Reception
The Paper debuted in 2025 and quickly became a hit. On Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer called it "absolutely a masterpiece" and hoped for many more seasons. Another said, "The Office is such a cultural staple that I didn’t think recreating it in a modern world was possible, but this revival absolutely delivered."
