The Boys appears to have taken a dig at the P. Diddy scandal in its latest episode.
The controversial music mogul, real name Sean Combs, 56, stood trial last year facing charges of racketeering, sex trafficking by force, and transportation for the purposes of prostitution. He was subsequently found guilty on two counts of transportation for the purposes of prostitution.
During the case, it emerged that the disgraced music star hosted sex parties that allegedly involved the use of baby oil. The satirical superhero series now appears to have taken aim at that particular detail.
The show is currently broadcasting its fifth and final season on Amazon Prime Video. Episode five delivered a major Supernatural reunion as Jensen Ackles, Jared Padalecki, and Misha Collins come together once more.
Fans are convinced the show referenced the controversial music producer.
The episode tracks Homelander (Antony Starr) and Soldier Boy (Ackles) as they pursue a lead connected to a powerful V-related substance, leading them to former Seven member Mr. Marathon (Padalecki), who is now living in Los Angeles, reports the Mirror US.
The group find themselves drawn into a poker game, though the gathering is quickly unmasked as a trap, as it becomes apparent that Mr. Marathon and Malchemical (Collins) are secretly scheming to bring Homelander down.
Malchemical deploys his gas powers to render Homelander unconscious, as the duo attempt to persuade Soldier Boy to help them finish the job while he remains vulnerable.
A fight quickly erupts once Homelander recovers and discovers he has been deceived, with events rapidly spiralling out of control. The mayhem escalates into a full-scale bloodbath as Soldier Boy ultimately refuses to betray Homelander.
The show revealed hundreds of baby oils.
Things grow even more tense as the chaos spills into the mansion's trophy room, which is covered in baby oil.
Viewers were swift to draw comparisons to Combs, as the bottles were labelled "Puff Baby," seemingly referencing his former stage name 'Puff Daddy'.
Fans across social media were left in stitches over the scenes, with many highlighting the cheeky nod. One person wrote: "Did The Boys really just reference Diddy??????"
Another added, "Homelander reaction after seeing hundreds of baby oil in Mister Marathon house (laughing emoji.)"
