Strictly Come Dancing professional Nadiya Bychkova has spoken publicly for the first time about her split from fellow dancer Kai Widdrington. The 35-year-old appeared on ITV's Loose Women on Thursday (January 9), where she discussed her upcoming solo tour and addressed the end of their two-year relationship.
When asked by panellist Sue Cleaver how she manages working with an ex, Nadiya said: 'I don't think any break-up is easy. But we're professionals, so we obviously knew that we would have to go back to work together, and that's what we do.' She added: 'I think in life it's about how you deal with things... right now, it's all about the tour.'
Nadiya and Kai, both professional dancers on the BBC show, split in June 2023 after two years of dating. Reports suggest the couple drifted apart due to the pressures of touring together and being in each other's space constantly.
In October 2024, Nadiya hinted at tension between them, telling the Mirror at the Pride of Britain Awards: 'We work together but we are not friends and that's ok. One thing I can tell you is that when you see me dancing with him it will be amazing because I'm a professional.'
