Strictly Come Dancing star Delta Goodrem has shared emotional videos of herself in tears after a rib injury forced her to pull out of last week's live show. The Australian singer, 41, missed the episode after breaking a rib during dance rehearsals, leaving her devastated as she faced the possibility of having to leave the competition.
Emotional Instagram post
Posting on Instagram, Delta wrote: "I filmed little moments over the past two weeks to remind myself that even on the frustrating days, there would be progress. I was gutted when the injury happened, as I've been truly loving this experience. It's hard to be patient when you want to be full force again but I've been listening, taking things carefully and learning to appreciate the small steps! Heading into show day feeling grateful to be able to take a few more tonight with all the incredible help from everyone around me xx. To all my warriors out there in your own battles i see you and am with you - we are fighters! #Teamdeltakai will see you tonight."
The videos showed her looking visibly upset as she faced the prospect of her and dance partner Kai Widdrington not being able to continue their journey on the show.
Return confirmed
Earlier this week, a spokesperson for Strictly confirmed that Delta would be returning, saying in a statement: "Following her bye last week due to injury, we're delighted to confirm Delta has been given the all clear to dance again this weekend."
"She'll return to the #Strictly ballroom on Saturday night, and Abi Clarke will pop into her rehearsal room for a chat on Training Room Diaries on Wednesday evening."
Delta and Kai will be dancing a Rumba to 'It's All Coming Back To Me Now' by Celine Dion after several successful weeks at the top of the leaderboard. Strictly Come Dancing will air tonight (Saturday, October 24) at 6.30pm on BBC One and iPlayer.
