Strictly Come Dancing contestant Cach Mercer has named Delta Goodrem as his tip to win the BBC competition, prompting an immediate interjection from It Takes Two host Ellie Taylor.
Appearing on Tuesday's (October 20) spin-off show, the former Love Island winner was asked whether he was starting to feel like a front runner for the Glitterball trophy after topping the week four leaderboard.
Leaderboard Toppers
Cach and his professional partner Maddie Ingoldsby impressed the judges on Saturday's (October 17) live show with a Foxtrot to Theme from New York, New York by Frank Sinatra. The routine earned them a score of 34 points, placing them jointly at the top of the week four leaderboard alongside Jaime Winstone and Carlos Gu.
On It Takes Two, Cach joined Emmerdale star Lawrence Robb and athlete Tabby Stoecker to reflect on their latest performances and look ahead to week five. Host Ellie Taylor noted that Cach had become a member of the "ballroom boys club" following comments from judge Anton Du Beke on Saturday.
Delta Goodrem Tip
When asked if he was starting to feel like a front runner, Cach dismissed the claim, saying: "No, I'm not starting to feel like that; to be fair, I can't because it is still really close between everybody." He added: "If I was at the top every week then I guess that would give you some sort of grace to say that but, I don't think there is a front runner in the competition so far."
Ellie pointed out that "anything could happen" in the competition, before Cach mentioned that Delta Goodrem had been missing from Icon's Week on Saturday. He said: "And Delta wasn't there, I can't lie, she is cold. Like, I would bet money on her winning", prompting Ellie to interject: "Don't say that".
Rib Injury Recovery
"I don't do bets," Cach confirmed, as Ellie looked shocked and quipped, "Don't do bets, don't do bets," while pointing her finger in front of her.
Australian singer and actress Delta is partnered with dancer Kai Widdrington at the start of the 2026 series, with the pair either topping or coming second on the leaderboard during the first three weeks. However, Delta was forced to miss Icon's Week in week four because she was resting at home due to a rib injury. She is expected to return to the ballroom for the next live show on Saturday (October 24).
