Strictly pro Jordan slams 'undeserved' first 10s

James Jordan, a former professional on Strictly Come Dancing, has criticised the judges' scoring in week five of the BBC show, saying the first 10s of the series were not deserved.

Last Saturday (October 24), Australian singer Delta Goodrem received the first 10 of the series from Anton Du Beke for her Rumba, boosting her overall score to 34. Olympian Tabitha Stoecker also impressed Anton and Motsi Mabuse with her couple's choice, earning two 10s and topping the leaderboard with a near-perfect 37.

Jordan questions early top marks

Jordan, who left the show in 2013, told WalesOnline publishers Reach Plc via WhichBingo: "No, I don't think they were deserved. In fact, I don't think anyone should have got a ten. I didn't see a performance that totally moved me in the way a ten should."

He added: "If they'd given Delta's salsa a ten, I'd have said yes, I get it. But this was a rumba with no real resistance in her body and no real earthiness. Technically, it was nice, but it was definitely too early to give that a ten."

Couple's choice not 'epic'

Jordan also questioned the score for Tabitha Stoecker and Mark Karmalita, saying: "I really liked Tabby and Mark's Couple's Choice, but for me it wasn't a ten. It wasn't an epic performance that's going to stick in my mind. If I had to pick who's most likely to force me to give my first ten this series, it would be one of Kai and Delta, Tabby and Mark, or Lacey and Vito."

This weekend, the remaining contestants take on Halloween Week, but Shaun Wright-Phillips will not be there after becoming the latest elimination.

Three-way dance-off twist

A major shake-up is confirmed for this weekend, with a three-way dance-off taking place for the first time in Strictly history on Sunday night (November 1). Craig Revel Horwood told Johannes Radebe and Emma Willis that ordinarily the judges vote for who they wish to save, but this time they will vote on who they want to eliminate, with only one couple leaving the competition.
