Strictly Come Dancing Hosts Reunite in Style Following Departure
Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman enjoyed a nostalgic Strictly Come Dancing reunion on Friday, marking one of their first public appearances together since stepping down from the BBC show after two decades. The iconic television hosts cut elegant figures as they caught up with professional dancers Nadiya Bychkova and Amy Dowden during a glitzy evening out in London.
Glamorous Evening and Heartfelt Tributes
Tess Daly, aged 56, turned heads in a sleeveless sequinned top that highlighted her toned arms, featuring sophisticated keyhole detailing paired with a chic black shirt. Claudia Winkleman, 54, complemented the look with a light silk blouse and dark trousers, accessorised with her signature dramatic eye makeup and a subtle tan.
Taking to Instagram, professional dancer Nadiya Bychkova shared glowing photographs from the evening with an emotional caption. She wrote: 'Celebrating two incredible women, two true icons @tessdaly @claudiawinkle. Proud to have shared the stage and the journey with you both. Thank you for the magic, the grace and the memories you created on @bbcstrictly and far beyond… and for the beautiful legacy you leave behind. Going to miss you both so much.'
Tess Daly also posted the images on her own social media, simply captioning them: 'Catching up.' The photographs quickly garnered thousands of likes and comments from fans mourning their departure from the beloved dance competition.
BBC Producers Still Undecided on Replacement Hosts
Meanwhile, behind the scenes, BBC producers remain uncertain about who will take over from Tess and Claudia in one of television's most coveted presenting roles. Professional dancer Janette Manrara, 42, provided a revealing behind-the-scenes insight during a recent interview.
'Oh my goodness. Nobody knows who'll replace them,' Janette stated emphatically. 'I don't think the producers know yet. They are huge shoes to fill, so it's really important to get it right. They're probably the best two jobs in live television.'
The presenting duo announced their decision to step down from Strictly Come Dancing last year, triggering widespread speculation about potential successors. Several names have been circulated as possible replacements for what many consider the hottest jobs in British television.
Potential Candidates Emerge for Iconic Roles
Recent reports indicate that Sian Welby, the 39-year-old Capital FM breakfast show presenter, is being seriously considered for one of the hosting positions. According to industry sources, BBC executives believe Sian would be particularly well-suited for the 'Clauditorium' segment where contestants receive their scores from judges.
'Sian might be less well-known than other names linked with Tess and Claudia's jobs so far,' a source revealed. 'But she's got everything it takes with one special ingredient — a younger audience, thanks to her job on trendy Capital FM. Her live radio experience means she's got that off-the-cuff banter that is needed in the Clauditorium down to a tee. And working on This Morning ticks all the TV boxes.'
Other prominent names in contention include Emma Willis, 49, and Zoe Ball, 55, both of whom have extensive presenting experience. Zoe Ball previously hosted Strictly's spin-off show It Takes Two until 2021 and has publicly expressed interest in the main presenting role.
'It’s a straight shoot-out between Zoe, who is the front-runner, and Emma,' an insider explained. 'Only one will get it, not both. The senior execs want a traditional presenter working alongside a more left-field person, a female stand-up comedian. It’s felt the humour Claudia brought to the show, particularly in her "Claudatorium", needs to carry on.'
Emma Willis recently took over from Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2's afternoon slot after Zoe stepped down from the position after just seven months. Representatives for both Emma Willis and Zoe Ball declined to comment when contacted by media outlets.
The search for new Strictly Come Dancing hosts continues as the BBC aims to maintain the show's enduring popularity while honouring the legacy left by Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman after their remarkable twenty-year tenure.
