Strictly Come Dancing viewers have criticised one couple for their reaction after being voted through to next week's competition, with some branding them "rude" and "ungrateful".
The backlash followed Sunday night's (October 18) results show, in which the remaining celebrities and their professional partners learned whether they had secured their place in the competition.
Safe Couples Announced
Big Brother presenter Will Best and his professional partner Dianne Buswell were the first couple announced as safe, followed by dog trainer Graeme Hall and Lauren Oakley. Both couples embraced before thanking viewers for voting to keep them in the competition.
Love Island star Cach Mercer and newcomer Maddie Ingoldsby were the third couple to learn they had made it through to the next week.
Viewer Backlash
Their reaction quickly sparked complaints online. Although Maddie appeared to say thank you before embracing Cach, some viewers were unimpressed, accusing the pair of failing to properly acknowledge the public's support.
Fans took to social media to criticise the couple for allegedly being the only pair who "never say thank you" to viewers after being voted through.
"Has anyone told Cach and Maddie they need to say thank you after the vote?" one viewer said, as another agreed: "Another week of Cach and Maddie NOT saying thank you for the public vote."
A third echoed: "Every week Cach and Maddie are the only ones not to thank the audience once they're announced as safe."
A fourth added: "I do like Cach and Maddie but every couple when they're announced they've been saved, usually thanks the audience for voting them through, but they just sort of…don't."
Further Complaints
Responding to the comments, another viewer remarked: "Glad someone else noticed. It really annoys me - so rude and ungrateful."
"Wondering why Cach & Maddie don't thank the audience when they get through?!?" asked another, while someone else claimed: "Cach and Maddie never say thank you when they get through."
