Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left furious at pro dancer Maddie Ingoldsby after her latest dance with Cach Mercer. The couple performed a Waltz to "That Ain't You" by Mulaa Joans, with the pair wearing matching white outfits.
Mixed Judges' Scores
The pair got mixed reviews from the judges, with Craig Revel-Horwood giving a four, while Motsi Mabuse and Anton Du Beke offered an 8, and Shirley Ballas a 6. Craig heavily criticised Maddie's posture and the amount of time the pair spent out of hold, but other judges were more complimentary of Cach, as Shirley said she still viewed him as having strong potential in the competition.
Fan Backlash on Social Media
Fans took to social media to hit out at Maddie for not taking the judges' past comments to heart, as they had previously criticised her choreography. One asked on X: "I’m sorry what is Maddie doing? He’s been told off for footwork several times and still hasn’t got it right."
Another added: "Get Cash and Maddie out man. Pretty much every week she’s not choreographing the correct dances . Plus they both seem so arrogant and allergic to constructive criticism." A third raged: "Cach is being let down by his pro. He has so much potential and she’s failing him."
A fourth swiped: "Would love to see Cach go this week. He always looks so miserable and like he doesn't want to be there. Plus, his routine this week was very poor."
Supportive Fans and Other Controversy
However, other fans were more complimentary, as one fan gushed: "Gorgeous from Cach and Maddie. Love their partnership!" A second said: "She is such a talent and will win next year given a decent partnership."
Meanwhile, Craig Revel-Horwood sparked backlash with his marks during the show. As the dancers took to the stage to perform, viewers quickly noticed that Craig's scores for a majority of the dancers were significantly lower than his fellow judges.
He gave Lacey Turner and Vito Coppola a six for their Rumba, while the other judges gave a 7, 8, and 9. He also gave John Nellis and Katya Jones a 4, while they got two 7s and an 8 from Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse and Anton du Beke.
Bethany Antonia and Nancy Xu also received a 6 from Craig for their Foxtrot, while the other marks were significantly higher, and the same could be said for Graeme Hall's Couple Choice.
