Spider-Noir to Star City: Seven Best Shows This Week

Nicolas Cage plays Spider-Man as a 1930s private eye in Spider-Noir, a new series that sees the actor fully commit to the role. The show follows Ben Reilly, a jaded PI in Depression-era New York who has hung up his Spidey suit after failing to protect his former love Ruby. However, the city is crawling with criminals, including crime kingpin Silvermane (Brendan Gleeson), and events spiral when Reilly acquires illicit photos of the mayor. While stylish, the show disappointingly offers a colour version alongside its noir aesthetic. Available on Prime Video from Wednesday 27 May.

Untold UK: Vinnie Jones

The final episode of Netflix's football documentary series examines the career of Vinnie Jones, a player whose on-pitch talent was limited but whose horizons were wide. Jones guides viewers through his unpredictable journey from hard-nut footballer to Hollywood star, offering blunt, likeable, and self-mythologising insights. Available on Netflix from Tuesday 26 May.

Abbott Elementary

UK viewers finally get the second half of season five of this charming comedy drama. The action centres on the sweet courtship between Gregory and Janine, but bigger issues loom as a new district regime threatens public school funding. Could Abbott's existence be at risk? Available on Disney+ from Wednesday 27 May.

The Four Seasons

In season two of Tina Fey's comedy drama, the friendship group heals after the death of Steve Carell's Nick. Jack struggles with emotions and weed, while Anne tackles Nick's legacy and admin. Fey's trademark snark blends with midlife melancholy. Available on Netflix from Thursday 28 May.

Deli Boys

This snappy comedy follows Mir and Raj, two brothers who discover their father's hidden career as a drug lord after his death. They face casino owner Max Sugar, a man with unsavoury connections. Smart, silly fun that toys with stereotypes. Available on Disney+ from Thursday 28 May.

This enthralling spin-off from For All Mankind offers a Russian perspective on the space race, reminiscent of HBO's Chernobyl. It focuses on the Chief Designer (Rhys Ifans) and astronaut Anastasia (Alice Englert), the first woman on the moon. The superb cast includes Adam Nagaitis and Anna Maxwell Martin. Available on Apple TV from Friday 29 May.
