Shirley Ballas has sparked speculation that she may leave Strictly Come Dancing after nearly a decade as a judge. The 65-year-old is reportedly set to appear on a US spin-off of Dancing with the Stars alongside her son, professional dancer Mark Ballas.
The new programme, which will search for the next professional dancer for the upcoming season of DWTS, is expected to be announced soon. Robert Irwin, winner of the last DWTS season, is said to be hosting the spin-off, with Mark and Shirley Ballas serving as judges.
It remains unclear when filming will begin, but as Strictly Come Dancing typically airs from September to December, Shirley may face a scheduling conflict. Fans have taken to social media to speculate about her potential departure from the BBC show.
If Shirley leaves, she would follow in the footsteps of former Strictly judges Len Goodman and Bruno Tonioli, who both moved to DWTS. The news comes after long-time Strictly hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman announced their departure from the show last year, with replacements yet to be confirmed.
