Sadie King's (Patsy Kensit) plan to seduce Caleb Miligan (William Ash) in Emmerdale got off to a disastrous start tonight, as her advances were firmly rejected. The attempt was part of a wider scheme with Joe Tate (Ned Porteous) to destroy the Miligans, with Sadie aiming to ruin Ruby Miligan's (Beth Cordingly) life.
Sadie's plan unfolds
Now living with the couple, Sadie spotted her opportunity when Ruby headed to the pub, leaving Caleb watching TV while Sadie sat with her laptop. After asking about his time in care, Sadie connected with him by revealing she was also in the care system as a child.
Caleb invited Sadie to sit down, and they chatted. He began to wonder if he was seeing the side of Sadie that Ruby claims she sees all the time. But, unbeknownst to Caleb, this was all part of Sadie's plan.
Rejection and tears
With a hidden camera recording, Sadie tried to make Caleb feel sorry for her and make a move – but things went wrong. As soon as she put her hand on his leg, Caleb realised what she was doing. He jumped from the sofa and confronted her.
Sadie immediately started crying, claiming the gesture was just her being friendly. The tears worked in her favour, as Caleb felt awful and reiterated that nothing like that can happen again. However, tonight's move won't be enough for Sadie to stop her plot.
What's next?
Emmerdale producer Sophie Roper said: 'Sadie King is a force to be reckoned with, but Caleb and Ruby are one of Emmerdale's most powerful couples, they have been through so much together and have only got stronger.'
'Joe recruiting Sadie does, however, create a dangerous dynamic, and viewers will hopefully be shouting at their screens to warn Caleb of the dangers that lie ahead.'
