Romola Garai, who stars in ITV's new drama Adultery, has been married to actor Sam Hoare since 2014. The couple have two children together.
The new ITV series, which began on Sunday October 25, features Garai as Beth Brookes and Dominic Cooper as Tom Kirkman. Both characters are married to other people but become infatuated with one another despite their two teenagers being in a relationship.
A synopsis for the show describes it as "a provocative love story of passion, parenthood and peril that raises questions about class, grief and the effects of social media." It adds: "Naturally authentic and bristling with forbidden desire, it focuses on two families and the love affair that threatens to uproot their whole lives."
Sam Hoare's acting career
Sam Hoare is best known for his role as Dickie Burnell alongside Matt Smith in BBC One's Olympic drama Bert and Dickie. He has also appeared in films including Captain America and The Golden Compass.
More recently, Hoare starred as ACC Cassian Pewe in ITV's Grace, Mr Kelly in Playing Nice and Lord Hal Melton in Outlander. He also appeared in the seventh series of the long-running BBC drama Death in Paradise as Daniel Friend, who ran a spiritual retreat on the fictional island of Saint Marie.
Behind the camera work
In addition to acting, Hoare has written, directed and created the film Having You, which made its debut on Sky Movies in 2013.
In 2015, Garai paid tribute to her husband when she accepted her Olivier Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She said on stage: "I'd like to dedicate this award, if I can, to my husband, Sam. He's here tonight. I was only able to do these two plays because he supported me so much and wanted me to do them and made it happen, so thank you so much sweetheart."
Adultery is available to watch on ITVX.
