Rivals Fans Furious Over Months-Long Wait for Part 2

Fans of the hit TV series Rivals have expressed frustration after Disney+ confirmed that the second part of season two will not be released for several months. The first six episodes of the 12-episode season have been airing weekly since May 15, with the mid-season finale scheduled for June 5. However, Disney+ has not yet announced a release date for the remaining six episodes, with reports suggesting an October 2026 release.

Viewers took to social media to voice their displeasure, with one fan on X writing: 'Finally starting season 2 of #Rivals, which I heard has been split into 2 parts?? And the other half doesn't come out until October?? Does Hulu think it's Netflix now?' Another commented: 'Rivals release schedule is terrible. They’re gonna kill the momentum of the show and I doubt they will do a lot of promo during the break.'

Some fans, however, have defended the split release, arguing that 12 episodes is generous for a British series. One viewer said: 'My unpopular opinion is that people are massively overreacting about the rivals season split. 12 episodes is a lot for a British show — it’s like getting two seasons in a year!'

Disney+ declined to provide an update on the release date when approached by the Mirror. The series, set in the fictional county of Rutshire, has received a 100% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes for its second season, keeping viewers hooked on the dramatic Cotswolds storyline.
