Richard Arnold sent a heartfelt message to Sir Tom Jones during Tuesday's live edition of Good Morning Britain, after the singer was forced to reschedule upcoming US tour dates on doctor's advice.
Ranvir Singh and Richard Madeley hosted the ITV programme on October 27, discussing Meghan Markle's new presenting role and ongoing weather warnings, before entertainment correspondent Richard Arnold joined the show to share the news about Sir Tom.
Sir Tom's health update
Sir Tom apologised to US concert-goers after revealing he had "unexpectedly been hit with a bad case of the flu" and was told not to perform by his doctor. The Voice UK coach shared the news on Instagram on Monday, October 26.
The statement read: "I've had a great time these last few weeks, completing 20 shows and singing for wonderful audiences across the USA, but unexpectedly I've been hit with a bad case of the flu. Following doctor's advice, I unfortunately have to reschedule tonight's show in Los Angeles and tomorrow's show in San Diego.
"I've had news that these shows will now be re-scheduled as follows - The Rady Shell at Jacobs Park, San Diego on Tuesday November 3rd and The Greek Theatre, Los Angeles on Wednesday November 4th. I'm truly sorry for any inconvenience caused. I look forward to seeing you all soon."
Support from GMB hosts
Richard Arnold sent his support during the episode, saying: "News on Sir Tom Jones now. He's had to reschedule dates on the US leg of his current tour due to a bad case of the flu."
He added that Sir Tom posted to social media that doctors had told him to reschedule his shows in Los Angeles and San Diego this week, and shared new dates at the start of November.
Richard then said, "Get well soon, Tom." Richard Madeley added: "He started in the days of black and white TV," before Richard Arnold noted: "He's still feeling the heat of the lights at 86!" Ranvir concluded: "And his voice is still just sensational."
