Pamela Anderson has opened up about her decision to avoid watching the Hulu drama 'Pam & Tommy', which dramatises the infamous sex tape scandal that rocked her life in the 1990s. The series, starring Lily James and Sebastian Stan, revisits the private video leak that became a global sensation.
'It's too painful,' Anderson admitted in a recent interview. 'I don't need to relive that trauma.' The former Baywatch star explained that the series, though critically acclaimed, brings back memories of betrayal and public humiliation.
Why the Series Stings
The unauthorised release of the tape in 1995, stolen from Anderson and then-husband Tommy Lee's home, became one of the first major celebrity scandals of the internet age. Anderson has long maintained that the distribution of the tape was a violation of her privacy.
'Pam & Tommy' attempts to frame the story as a commentary on media exploitation, but Anderson insists she was never consulted—nor compensated—for the project. 'It's not their story to tell,' she said.
Moving Forward
Now focused on activism and her memoir, Anderson has chosen to distance herself from the series. 'I’m in a different place now,' she shared. 'I don’t want to be defined by that moment anymore.'
Despite her stance, the show has sparked renewed conversations about consent and the treatment of women in Hollywood—a discussion Anderson hopes will lead to change.
