All Creatures Great and Small Star Nicholas Ralph Joins Grantchester for Final Series

Nicholas Ralph, known for his role in All Creatures Great and Small, has joined the cast of Grantchester for its 11th and final series. The Scottish actor will portray Reverend John Planer in the ITV drama, which is set during the summer of 1963.

According to TV Insider, Ralph's character meets Alphy Kotteram (Rishi Nair) during a visit to Bishop Grey's residence, where clergy members have gathered for a weekend retreat. The series follows Detective Inspector Geordie Keating (Robson Green) and Alphy as they tackle new mysteries.

The final series has already launched in the United States on PBS, with episodes airing until 2 August. A UK release date has not yet been confirmed, but given that previous series aired in January, the concluding episodes may debut in early 2027.

In the upcoming season, Alphy delves deeper into his personal past, questioning his convictions, while his relationship with Meg, the bishop's daughter, blossoms. Geordie experiences a more peaceful chapter, and Cathy flourishes as her boutique expands.

The synopsis reveals that Geordie receives a tempting offer from the Chief Superintendent, which could end his crime-solving partnership with Alphy. Meanwhile, Leonard discovers a paternal side while caring for a neighbour's son.

Fans have expressed excitement about the crossover, with one posting on social media: 'Two of my favourite worlds colliding with #ACGAS Nicholas Ralph appearing in the wonderful #Grantchester.'
