Netflix's upcoming series The Boroughs is set to premiere on Thursday, May 21, featuring an ensemble cast led by Alfred Molina and Geena Davis. The show follows a group of retirees in a New Mexico retirement community who uncover a dark otherworldly secret.
Executive produced by the Duffer Brothers of Stranger Things fame, the story begins when newcomer Sam Cooper (Alfred Molina) arrives. A retired engineer grieving his late wife Lily (Jane Kaczmarek), he experiences a monstrous encounter that forces him to protect the community he initially wanted to avoid.
The cast includes Geena Davis as Renee, a cynical former music manager; Bill Pullman as Jack, the life of the party; Alfre Woodard as Judy, a sharp-witted ex-journalist; Clarke Peters as Art, a spiritual seeker; Denis O'Hare as Wally, a retired doctor who uses humour as a defence; and Alice Kremelberg as Anneliese, an elegant and quietly terrifying staff member.
Kaczmarek, known for Malcolm in the Middle, appears in flashbacks as Lily. Pullman and Kremelberg are both alumni of the thriller series The Sinner, while Davis is famed for her role in Grey's Anatomy.
