Bill Nighy and Micheal Ward Star in Netflix Football Drama The Beautiful Game

The first trailer for Netflix's upcoming football drama The Beautiful Game has been released, offering a glimpse into the story of England's homeless football team competing in the Homeless World Cup in Rome. The film, inspired by the real Homeless World Cup and made with the organisation's support, stars Bill Nighy and Micheal Ward.

The trailer introduces striker Vinny (Ward) and manager Mal (Nighy), with Mal observing Vinny's flamboyant penalty kick and remarking it 'had swagger'. Vinny, a former professional player, is revealed to have been living in his car for months. Mal recruits him for England's homeless team, though Vinny is initially reluctant to be labelled as homeless.

The film follows the team's journey to Rome for the tournament, with Vinny awestruck upon arrival. The trailer teases conflict among teammates and inspirational words from Mal. Other cast members include Callum Scott Howells, Kit Young, and Susan Wokoma.
