A new photograph of a mysterious creature in Loch Ness has been recorded as a fresh sighting of the legendary monster. Karen Scott, 54, from Aberdeen, captured the images on November 24 while visiting Urquhart Castle with her partner.
Scott described seeing a presence 'the size of a very large seal' moving in the water. She initially thought it was a bird, but her partner disagreed. The creature slowly submerged and reappeared several times before moving further away.
Scott told the Official Loch Ness Monster Sightings Register that castle guides said seals were rare this far up the loch. 'I don't know what it was,' she said, adding that it 'didn't bob about like a seal would do.'
Gary Campbell, who maintains the register, noted that 2020 had been an unexpectedly strong year for Nessie reports despite the pandemic reducing visitor numbers. He said sightings came from both local residents and online webcam viewers.
Scott expressed belief in the monster's existence, saying: 'There is definitely something there that can't easily be explained.'
