Netflix viewers have been left 'crying for days' after watching the second season of the US spin-off of Love on the Spectrum, which follows people on the autism spectrum as they navigate the dating world. The series, based on the Australian original, features seven dating hopefuls from the neurodivergent community, including Connor, Abbey, James, Journey, Steve, Tanner, and Dani.
Fans took to social media to share their emotional reactions. One user posted on X: 'So, I tried Love on the Spectrum like 2 days ago & I wanna try again but that s*** gave me a damn headache. I kept crying lmaooo you know how much you gotta cry to get a damn headache.' Another wrote: 'Not me watching Love on the Spectrum and crying my eyes out at 6am lmaoo.'
Participant Steve spoke about his experience on the show, saying: 'People recognise me when I walk down the street, and everyone is so wonderful! They are accepting of who I am, and seem to know and appreciate me for exactly who I am.' He added that filming the show gave him more confidence to go on dates and helped him embrace his neurodiversity.
The series has been praised for its authentic portrayal of romance within the neurodivergent community, with many viewers expressing how moved they were by the participants' journeys.
