Andy and Kim Murray announce new Channel 4 documentary series
Murray family announce Channel 4 hotel documentary

Andy Murray and his wife, Kim, have announced they will feature in a new Channel 4 docu-series giving fans an inside look at their transformation of Cromlix, the hotel near his hometown of Dunblane.

The three-time Grand Slam winner bought the property in 2013. After retiring from tennis in 2024, Murray and his wife have been working on the hotel, and a new three-part series will reflect on a year-long period of change, including a new wing featuring two new restaurants.

Michelin Guide recognition and new series

The announcement follows the recognition of one of their restaurants, Cradle at Cromlix, which has been featured in the Michelin Guide. Entitled Our Scottish Hotel, the docu-series lands on Channel 4 in December, granting viewers behind-the-scenes access as the couple navigate renovations described as "the biggest financial gamble" Murray and Kim have taken since buying the hotel more than a decade ago.

Kim said of the new series: "The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way."

Behind the scenes at Cromlix

"Andy and I haven't worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process - and a learning curve! I've loved shaping this building and estate into what's now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business. I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel."

Our Scottish Hotel chronicles the team at Cromlix as they strive to maintain service to guests while construction work takes place across the estate. The documentary also charts Murray and Kim's return following the hotel's five-month shutdown, to discover whether their gamble has been worthwhile.

Channel 4 and production details

Emily Shields, the Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, said: "Cromlix is a fascinating world to step inside, and this series offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a business where no detail is overlooked."

"Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special. We're delighted to be bringing viewers this warm, intimate and revealing look at life behind the doors of one of Scotland's most distinctive hotels."

The series comprises three one-hour episodes, produced by Rogan Scotland for Channel 4. James Rogan, co-CEO of Rogan Scotland, said: "It's been such a privilege for Rogan Scotland to be invited into Cromlix at this pivotal time."

"What fascinated us was not simply the scale of the transformation, but how personal every decision became. From the food on the plate and the David Shrigley works on the walls to the search for water beneath the estate, the series captures Kim and Andy's contrasting instincts, ambitions and sense of humour."

"Cromlix is also the story of an extraordinary team, responding to each new challenge with ingenuity, pride and a determination to make every guest feel that nothing unusual is happening at all."
