Andy Murray and his wife Kim have announced they will star in a new Channel 4 docu-series, offering a behind-the-scenes look at their transformation of Cromlix. The three-time Grand Slam champion purchased the hotel, near his hometown of Dunblane, in 2013.
Since retiring from tennis in 2024, Murray and his wife have been working on the property. The three-part series will document a year-long period of renovation, including a new wing with two additional restaurants.
Michelin recognition and December release
The announcement follows recognition for Cradle at Cromlix, one of the hotel's restaurants, in the Michelin Guide. Titled Our Scottish Hotel, the series arrives on Channel 4 in December.
It will give viewers behind-the-scenes access as the pair tackle renovations described as "the biggest financial gamble" Murray and Kim have undertaken since buying the hotel over a decade ago.
Kim Murray on the project
Speaking about the series, Kim said: "The last couple of years have been really full of change at Cromlix with a huge building project and a totally new direction for fine dining and wellness, and I was really keen to document that as there were so many personal stories and interesting discoveries along the way.
"Andy and I haven't worked on anything together before, so that was a fascinating process - and a learning curve! I've loved shaping this building and estate into what's now become a really thriving and much-loved Scottish business. I hope people enjoy watching the show and meeting the team behind the hotel."
Inside the series
Our Scottish Hotel follows the staff at Cromlix as they maintain high standards for guests while renovation work takes place across the estate. The documentary also follows Murray and Kim's return after the hotel's five-month shutdown, to see whether their gamble has paid off.
Emily Shields, Commissioning Editor for Channel 4, said: "Cromlix is a fascinating world to step inside, and this series offers a rare glimpse behind the scenes of a business where no detail is overlooked.
"Kim and Andy are embarking on an ambitious transformation, but at its heart this is a story about people: the team whose hard work brings Cromlix to life, and the shared desire to create something truly special. We're delighted to be bringing viewers this warm, intimate and revealing look at life behind the doors of one of Scotland's most distinctive hotels."
The series consists of three one-hour episodes, produced by Rogan Scotland for Channel 4. James Rogan, co-CEO of Rogan Scotland, said: "It's been such a privilege for Rogan Scotland to be invited into Cromlix at this pivotal time.
"What fascinated us was not simply the scale of the transformation, but how personal every decision became. From the food on the plate and the David Shrigley works on the walls to the search for water beneath the estate, the series captures Kim and Andy's contrasting instincts, ambitions and sense of humour."
Cromlix is also the story of an extraordinary team, responding to each new challenge with ingenuity, pride and a determination to make every guest feel that nothing unusual is happening at all.
