A body language expert has identified what she calls a "fatal flaw" in Michael Sheen's game just hours before the Celebrity Traitors final airs tonight (October 31). Judi James, speaking on behalf of Paddy Power Bingo, said viewers could see Sheen's downfall in the finale.
The BBC competition concludes with just seven players left, who will compete for a prize pot to be donated to a charity of their choice. The final will run longer than usual.
Expert spots Sheen's 'tell'
James said Sheen showed a "tell" that might prove fatal when unmasking more Traitors. "He is very brave about accusing them but his hand gesture at the prospect of doing so last night suggested he is a nice guy who intrinsically finds no pleasure in the human aspect of doing it in the finale," she said.
Sheen named all three Traitors correctly, but as he did so he massaged his hands together in what James described as a "self-soothe ritual" implying unease or discomfort. "His levels of empathy might make him falter in terms of continuing his full house win by going for the jugular and unmasking the full set of Traitors," she added.
Maya Jama's tells
James also analysed Maya Jama's behaviour when she and Sheen were the last two remaining at the end of the night. She noted Maya made "tells" hinting at her Traitor nature, including blinking first and her hand position, with her fingers entwined, which signalled a desire to "both form a barrier and to avoid conversation".
The expert said Maya would be aware that if she does not murder Sheen, she has given her Traitor status away to him, making him vulnerable. However, James suggested Maya, as a professional show host, would be aware of the dramatic potential of a finale between herself and Sheen, which might tempt her to allow him to live.
The final follows last night's semi-final, in which James Acaster admitted he was a recruited Traitor, outing himself during the roundtable discussion. Celebrity Traitors continues tonight at 8pm on BBC One.
