McFly fans were left 'in tears' after Tom Fletcher brought his 12-year-old son Buzz on stage during a recent concert at Lincoln Castle on June 14. The young guitarist joined the band to perform their hit 'Five Colours In Her Hair', showcasing his inherited stage presence.
Special Guest Appearance
In videos shared on social media, Buzz Fletcher, the eldest son of Tom and Giovanna Fletcher, walked onto the stage with his own electric guitar. Danny Jones encouraged the audience to chant 'Buzz, set it off!' before Buzz played the opening riff. The rest of the band joined in, with Tom and Buzz sharing excited smiles. Dougie Poynter even ran a circle around the youngest band member, highlighting the fun atmosphere.
Fan Reactions
The emotional moment left many fans overwhelmed. One concert-goer exclaimed, 'Could they not be more talented?' Another commented, 'Tom is literally closing the circle. He played with his dad when he was a child, now Buzz plays with him. This is so precious.' A third fan wrote, 'You should be so proud Tom Fletcher – I sobbed.'
A fourth fan noted that Buzz is not far off the age Dougie Poynter was when McFly started. Dougie was just 15 when he auditioned for the band in 2003, helping McFly secure a Guinness World Record for the youngest band to have a debut album go straight to number one.
McFly, formed in 2003, still features all four original members: Danny Jones, Harry Judd, Dougie Poynter, and Tom Fletcher. They continue to tour across the UK with several summer concerts planned.
